On September 12, 2005 the Rev. Sun Myung Moon, age 85, founder of the Unification Church embarked an unimaginable 120-City World Speaking tour. It was also the day when Rev. Moon inaugurated the Universal Peace Federation formerly called (IIFWP), Inter-religious and International Federation For World Peace. Each city, Rev. Moon delivered his speech titled "Gods Ideal Family the Model for World Peace". In his speech he emphasized deeply the importance of achieving peace. Peace that will start on the family.
God's Ideal Family
One might ask, what is God's Ideal Family? God's Ideal Family is to experience joy through relating with ideal families filled with True Love. Again some people might ask What does an ideal family look like. Let's consider this thing First, each person live in the family as the owner of true love. Bible states that God created man and woman... God made Adam representing all men and so God created Eve representing all women with the intention that they become the owners of true love. For Adam and Eve, the quickest way to cultivate a character of true love was to secure a parent child relationship with God, whereby they could live in attendance to God as their Father. They were to have followed the path of living as "One Family Under God".
Global Peace Festival
What is Global Peace Festival? What is
its purpose? The Global Peace Festival is a series of festivals intended to promote world peace and cooperation under the motto “One Family under God.” Its Goals:
Build a movement involving all sectors of society that promotes the unity of the human family on every level. Facilitate intercultural and interreligious cooperation. Promote and strengthen virtuous marriages and healthy families. Foster a global culture of peace and service. Inspire innovative approaches to peace-building. Advocate and contribute to the achievement of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals. Demonstrate and celebrate achievements for peace and human development.
Guiding Ideals
All people – regardless of Culture, Nationality, Religion, Race or Ethnicity are members of one human family created by God. The highest qualities of the human being are spiritual and moral in nature. By creating a global culture of service and living for the sake of others we can reconcile and bring together the divided human family. Peace requires respect, dialogue and cooperation beyond the boundaries of ethnicity, religion, and nationality. The family is the “school of love and peace”.
